Take 60mm tank shell plate with 10 meters welding workload for example, the required welding materials that will be consumed is like this.
A,  Based on 60°X bevel by Manual welding, the calculation of required quantity of welding materials in the seam is:
               Gap G=2mm,δ=60mm,F=0,Bevel degree 60°for example:
               Deposition metal rate=2×60+30×tg30°×2×30/2×2+(2×30×tg30°+2)×3×2/3×2mm2×10m×7.8g/cm3
 Welding wire=101.85kg/0.9=113.16kg
Welding flux=1.8×113.16kg=203.00kg
B,  :Based on 45°K bevel by automatic girth seam welding machine welding, the calculation of required quantity of welding materials in the seam is:
Gap G=2mm,S1=60mm,F=0,Bevel degree 45°for example:
Deposition metal rate=2×60+60/2×tg45°×60/2+(30×tg45°+2)×3×2/3×2mm2×10m×7.8g/cm3
 Welding wire=89.54kg/0.9=99.50kg
Welding flux=1.2×99.50kg=119.40kg
